12th International Day of Yoga (IYD-2026)

Shri Motibhai R Chaudhary Sagar Sainik School celebrated the 12th International Day of Yoga on 21st June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, teachers, parents, and staff members and local community members. The event aimed to create awareness about the importance of yoga in maintaining physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

The theme of the 12th International Day of Yoga was “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” emphasizing the role of yoga in promoting a healthy, active, and balanced life for people of all ages. The theme highlights how regular yoga practice contributes to longevity, flexibility, mental wellness, and preventive healthcare.

The celebration commenced with a brief introduction to the significance of yoga by Ms.Meena Chaudhary and its rich heritage as a gift of ancient India to the world. Students performed various yoga asanas, pranayama, and meditation exercises under the guidance of trained instructors. The participants also followed the Common Yoga Protocol and learned about the benefits of regular yoga practice.

The Principal Sh.Ashok Injety addressed the gathering and encouraged everyone to incorporate yoga into their daily routine for a healthier and stress-free life. The importance of discipline, mindfulness, and holistic development through yoga was emphasized.

Various activities such as yoga demonstrations, poster-making, slogan writing, and awareness talks were organized to engage students and deepen their understanding of yoga. The event concluded with a pledge to practice yoga regularly and spread awareness about its benefits among family members and society.

The celebration was a grand success and inspired all participants to embrace yoga as a way of life. It reinforced the message that yoga is not merely a form of exercise but a pathway to harmony between mind, body, and spirit.
